Isolators for toxic applications

An isolator is an enclosed and confined environment whose function is to provide a threefold level of protection to the operator, the product and the environment during a range of operations.

FPS develops, designs and manufactures a wide range of tailor-made isolator solutions for potent (toxic) and aseptic (sterile) materials that meet every customer need.

In the process of micronization of pharmaceutical powders (and beyond), isolators are essential because they allow easy handling and viewing of the work in an enclosed and separate environment. They are usually made of stainless steel, welded by the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) method, and in some cases the transparent acrylic parts are replaced by tempered glass or other materials to provide a higher degree of safety for the operator.

The innovative technology of FPS isolators ensures that containment operations can be performed, providing total protection of both the product (sterile application) and the operator and the environment (toxic application or the combination of both conditions).

The isolator can be designed and built around existing machines and equipment (e.g., counting machines, capsule filling machine…).
